Hi, my name is Katelin Zylka and I am a Licensed Social Worker. I began my journey of mental health awareness long before I named it that. From the beginning of my existence I was curious about the human experience and learning about people’s stories. I would say I began my journey at birth and continue to search for meaning and connection—something I believe is lifelong.
My approach to therapy is based on the fact that human brains are designed with the physical capacity to create new pathways to thinking and processing. Along with the human ability to change and transform, I believe every person is built with the capacity to heal. Therapy is a space to work towards building a healthy relationship with yourself, understanding feelings of dissonance, and building on strengths to heal, change and grow.
The relationship between clinician and client is one in which self-reflection, self-exploration, and self-understanding take place in the context of a safe and deeply authentic relationship. My goal is to create an environment of mutual trust and respect, wherein we work side by side to explore your innermost fears, goals, and emotions in order to face life’s challenges with greater freedom and flexibility.
I am here to help you process through what you are experiencing and developing skills to continue your path to finding your best self and living in peace of mind.
